My big dream is to open a facility where sexually abused kids can really grow and heal. When I was going through all that, the counselors and therapists were not a lot of help. All they did was ask me question after question. What I needed was to be able to talk about what happened with other people who could relate to what I went through like other kids and to know that I could still have a positive future and get to use my talents. That’s what Boomerang did for me. I went to the class three times before I could talk about it, but they made me feel safe and listened to and valued. And I was encouraged to express my singing and artistic talents at the Boomerang Celebration Event. It helped me let go of the past and from then on, my focus was on my best possible future.
